Church of the Nativity

Church of the Nativity is a religious organization in Charleston, SC, serving as a faith-centered Catholic community. Its mission is carried out through education, evangelization, social justice and ecumenism, with outreach offered in love, respect and support for all. The parish operates a Catholic Christian school educating students from pre-Kindergarten through 8th grades, and it maintains a youth ministry along with Bible study sessions held at various times throughout the year. Liturgical servers are welcomed and needed at all Masses, and Mass intention requests can be made both online and by traditional paper envelope.

Registration for the 2026-2027 year is open for parish children attending non-parochial schools, and volunteers must register through Virtus before serving. The parish office coordinates volunteer registration for both the school and the parish. Newcomers are invited to register under the Welcome section by selecting Join the Parish, with registration completed online through Flocknote. Monthly fellowship coffee and donuts are held directly after the 9 AM Mass. Baptism requires three months of active parishioner status before scheduling, while weddings do not require parishioner status. Online giving is handled through myEoffering, and parishioners may also use Flocknote for giving, with a parishioner ID or full name included on offerings so gifts can be acknowledged and year-end donation statements provided. The parish states that it will never ask for or accept banking or credit card information by phone or email.

The church is located at 1061 Folly Rd, on Folly Road itself, about a tenth of a mile from Nativity School and roughly half a mile from Fort Johnson Middle School. The James Island Fire Department Station 1 Headquarters sits about four tenths of a mile away, and Wolfpit Run creek is about six tenths of a mile from the property. Ample parking is available on site, and visitors parking outside the lot are asked not to park in the road or obstruct neighbors' driveways.

Church of the Nativity serves Charleston's Catholic community on Folly Road through worship, a pre-K through 8th grade school, and parish ministries open to newcomers and longtime parishioners alike.
