Une Année | Hubbard's Cave Brewery & Barbecue is a brewery in Niles, Illinois. Founded in 2013 on Hubbard Street on Chicago's near west side, it began as an independent craft brewery making Belgian-inspired ales. Jerry Nelson, an architect, former Marine, and Chicago native, founded the brewery, which became a family operation when his brother Dave and Dave's wife Jen joined. The taproom moved to Niles in 2017, and in 2020 it relocated to its current space with the addition of a kitchen specializing in barbecue. The brewery produces fruited and unfruited American Wild Ales, or sour beers, alongside its Belgian-style offerings. In 2015, Hubbard's Cave was developed as an alternative line producing American-style ales, primarily imperial stouts and signature Fresh IIPAs, named after the Hubbard Street traffic tunnel on Interstate 90/94 near where the brewery was born. The name Une Année means "One Year" in French, and the brewery's first offering, "Maya," was made for the adults at Jerry's daughter's first birthday party.
