Christian Learning Center

Christian Learning Center is a tutoring service and licensed childcare center in Canyon, Texas. It provides care for children through spiritual, mental, physical and social activities designed to model Christian principles, and it serves infants from 6 weeks to 18 months, toddlers from 18 months to 2 years, PreK-3 and PreK-4 with extended care available, plus an after school program and a summer school-age program. The center holds a rating of 5.00.

Staff model Christian principles as they interact with children, and children are challenged to expand their spiritual and academic knowledge through daily lessons that include structured play and lessons in academics and spiritual beliefs. Teachers instruct children in developmentally appropriate activities and extend that learning through hands-on lessons. The center uses the Abeka Books Curriculum, an advanced Christian-based curriculum that prepares students academically and spiritually for Kindergarten. Children build social skills during free center time and indoor and outdoor physical activity, and extra activities such as "Tots" and Tippie Toes are offered for a nominal fee. The center is open year round from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday except specific holidays. Shannon Lenerose is the director and Dori Garcia is the assistant director.

The center sits on 4th Avenue, about a tenth of a mile from The Little House of Fellowship and First Baptist Church, and roughly the same distance from Canyon Fire Station and Canyon Municipal Court. Randall County Courthouse is about two tenths of a mile away.

Families in Canyon have rated the Christian Learning Center 5.00, a reflection of the care and instruction it provides to young children from infancy through their early school years.
