Hornaday Countertops

Hornaday Countertops is a countertop store in West Columbia, SC. The company installs granite, quartz and Formica countertops for kitchens and baths, and has been in business for almost 60 years. Its work is aimed at homeowners planning kitchen and bathroom projects, and the business has built its customer base largely through referrals. It holds a rating of 5.00 based on two reviews.

The business began in the 1960s as Carpet, Vinyl and Countertops, and its founder, Mr. Hornaday, grew it into one of the Columbia area's most respected and trusted installers. He raised three sons, Edwin, David and Eddie, and groomed them to take over the family owned and operated business so he could retire in the late 1990s. By the early 2000s he had turned the business over to his sons, who transitioned it to granite and quartz installations. Since the passing of his father and his brother David, Eddie Hornaday has carried on his father's legacy as the sole owner, maintaining the standards and quality the Hornaday name is known for. He stays current on industry trends and building codes, and is known throughout the region as on time, reliable and trustworthy.

The company works with granite, quartz and Formica. Granite is a one-of-a-kind natural surface formed by heat and pressure, resistant to bacterial contamination, able to take the heat of a pan, and easy to repair if it scratches or chips. Quartz is a factory-made composite that is homogeneous and nonporous, harder and more durable than granite, and needs no sealers, though excessive heat can damage it and integrated sinks are not incorporated into it. For bathrooms, the majority of homeowners choose the natural look of stone, and the company notes that stone or composites add value, beauty and safe functionality. It also installs stainless steel sinks, which are non-porous, stain resistant, durable and easy to keep clean and sterilized.

Hornaday Countertops is located at 103 Green Meadows Road in West Columbia.

The business is known for the quality of its installations and for being one of the most recommended and referred installers in the area, with referrals at the top of its approach and one of the highest referral rates locally. Customers who have reviewed it give it a 5.00 rating.

For West Columbia homeowners weighing granite, quartz or Formica for a kitchen or bath, Hornaday Countertops brings nearly six decades of family-run installation experience to the project.
