Palmetto State Fitness

Palmetto State Fitness is a gym in Charleston, SC, and the only functional fitness gym in SC that is owned, operated, and coached by a Doctor of Physical Therapy. The facility follows the sport's methodology of constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity, and pairs that approach with movement safety drawn from the clinical knowledge of medical professionals who understand how the body should move. Workouts are shaped to fit each member's unique body type, with active coaching and real-time movement corrections aimed at longevity rather than the weight on the bar or the time on the clock. New members are required to complete an introductory program of three one-on-one or small group sessions with the owner and physical therapist, which teach foundational movements and how to tailor workouts to individual needs. Memberships are month to month with automatic renewal and a 30-day notice cancellation policy. The gym hosts a free community class on Saturdays at 9:00am, and offers open gym hours every weekday from 5:00am to 12:00pm, 1:00pm to 4:45pm, and 7:00pm to 10:00pm. All necessary equipment is provided, and community events outside the gym include community WODs at new locations, top golf, and happy hours. Reid is certified in CrossFit Level 1 and RYT-200. The gym sits in an industrial complex at 7 Amy Elsey Drive Unit C, Charleston, SC 29407, with ample parking.
