Mondo Construction

Mondo Construction is a construction company in Monroe, CT, that provides excavating, utility, septic, drainage, and demolition services to residential and commercial customers across Fairfield County and the bordering towns of New Haven County and Litchfield. The company handles underground telecommunications work, utility installations, site work for new home and business development, water drainage systems, septic system installation and repair, demolition and asbestos removal, hydro vac services, and concrete deliveries in sizes from one to ten yards. It holds a rating of 5.00 from its customers.

Mondo Construction has been a locally owned, family-run business since 1941, when James Mondo Sr. began his career in the industry after working as a superintendent for a large building and development firm. His son, who remains the company's president, joined in 1970 and expanded operations to include septic system installation and repair. In the early 1980s, the company contracted with Southern New England Telephone Co. to perform manhole construction and conduit installation and relocation, growing into one of the largest and most qualified contractors in the area. Now in its third generation, Mondo Construction continues to grow and diversify its range of services, with most of its supervisors and foremen drawn from the family.

The business is located on Monroe Turnpike, about a tenth of a mile from the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Department and a short distance from the Town Open Space on Great Quarter Road, with the Bagburn Estates Tract nature preserve and a local landmark known as The Castle also nearby.

Backed by more than 60 years of continuous operation and generations of family expertise, Mondo Construction brings a depth of experience to excavation, utility, and septic work throughout the Monroe area and across Fairfield County.
