Hi Tech Hardwood Floors

Hi Tech Hardwood Floors is a Flooring Contractor in San Francisco, CA, located at 887 39th Ave. The company installs new unfinished and prefinished hardwood, engineered wood, and refinishes existing floors throughout San Francisco, Marin County, and Oakland. Family-owned since 1998, Andy Tran and his son Harry are on-site for every job, with Harry leading day-to-day operations. The crew includes licensed carpenters who handle subfloor preparation, moisture testing, tongue-and-groove installation, and general carpentry such as baseboards and molding. They are NWFA and WFCA certified and hold CA Contractor License #859459. They carry brands like Mirage, BR-111, Tarkett, and Columbia, and provide dustless sanding with a three-coat finish process. They also service condos with HOA sound requirements by providing STC/IIC ratings. The business holds a 4.80 rating based on customer reviews.

The installation process begins with construction-level subfloor work, including repair, plywood installation over joists or slabs, leveling, and moisture testing to prevent squeaks and gaps. Solid hardwood is installed board by board using tongue-and-groove methods, either nailed to wood subfloors or glued to concrete. For unfinished floors, the team sands and applies polyurethane or waterborne finishes on-site, allowing for custom stain colors. They specialize in dark staining and the restoration of Douglas fir in historic Victorian and Edwardian homes. The dustless sanding system captures airborne dust at the source. They coordinate with general contractors and architects on new builds and full remodels, ensuring flooring sequences properly with framing and drywall.
