Hot Rodz Driving Academy is a family-owned business founded by Christine Hewitt and Cindy Sytsma, two lifelong friends who first met in kindergarten at Sunset Hills Elementary in San Diego and went on together through Black Mountain Middle School and Mt. Carmel High School, graduating in 1993. Christine brings her background as a certified driving instructor and Cindy brings her experience in education, and they are joined by Christine's daughters Jessica and Vanessa, with Jessica also working as a licensed instructor, along with Cindy's children Maddie and Wyatt. The school sits on Stowe Drive, about 0.2 miles from Kirkham Road and the Pomerado Business Park, roughly 0.2 miles from the San Diego County Philatelic Library, and close to Scripps Poway Parkway and Community Road. The school's reputation shows through the words of recent students, who have praised individual instructors for being thorough and supportive, highlighted smooth scheduling and rescheduling, and reported passing the DMV test with high marks. That track record, paired with over four decades of trust between its founders, makes Hot Rodz Driving Academy a notable option for driver training in Poway.
