Madhouse Dance

Madhouse Dance is a dance studio in Encinitas, CA. It offers spicy dance fitness classes designed for women and for people with no dance experience, taught in person and online. The studio's classes are built for non-dancers to start dancing while getting a workout, and the studio describes the result as a self-love transformation. Memberships include the Spicy Six, a two-month commitment with six classes per month and access to members-only social events, and the Red Hot membership, a six-month commitment with unlimited classes, two guest passes per month, and a late cancel exemption per month. Madhouse operates locations in San Diego, Encinitas, and Los Angeles. The studio holds a rating of 5.00. Madhouse was founded by Olivia Kingston, who had the idea for the studio in January of 2020 after realizing how much she loved to dance and how little she actually did it. With no real dance experience, she found that her only outlets for dance as an adult were bars, clubs, or her own bedroom, and she did not feel welcome in traditional dance studios where the emphasis was on technique and performance. She began teaching outdoor, silent-disco dance cardio classes in late 2020, putting her first classes together, inviting friends, and teaching for free in exchange for feedback. After several months of teaching for free and gathering input from her earliest clients, she launched her first studio space on Morena Blvd. in May of 2021. The opening of that studio brought the introduction of Redroom, the studio's most popular series of classes. The team includes Olivia K. as founder, Kira H. as studio operations manager, Rachel Hug. as studio marketing manager, and Sidney T. as Westwood manager. The Encinitas studio is at 260 N El Camino Real, Suite E, on North El Camino Real near its junction with Mountain Vista Drive. Encinitas Boulevard is about 0.4 miles away, and the San Diego County Sheriff's Encinitas Station is about 0.2 miles from the studio. Classes are designed for non-dancers by a non-dancer, and customers describe the studio as a welcoming place where women of different body types dance together. Madhouse Dance holds a 5.00 rating from the customers who have reviewed it, and its Encinitas studio brings that non-dancer-first approach to dance fitness to North El Camino Real.
