The Loud

The Loud is a bar and live music venue in Huntington, WV. It operates as an outdoor beer garden as well, with a beer selection that heavily features local brews from Bad Shepherd Beer Company in Charleston, WV. The venue hosts national and regional touring acts and has done so since 2006, when it began under the name V Club. Artists who have played there include Tyler Childers, Less Than Jake, The Avett Brothers, Corrosion of Conformity, Every Time I Die, Clutch, Lucero, Jason Isbell, and Hank Williams III. The Loud continues that tradition with the same owners. It holds a rating of 4.60 from the customers who have reviewed it.

The Loud is a refreshed name for one of the Tri-State's longest-running music venues. During the shutdown of 2020, the decision was made to overhaul the V Club. The space has been freshly renovated, the sound system has been updated, and the venue continues to book live music. Upcoming shows have included Easy Shine with Gavin & the Tree Folk and John Sargent, Bleach's 30 Year Anniversary with John Reuben, Hello June, and Keep Warm, Magoo with Coyote Rodeo, Pecos & The Rooftops with Canaan Bryce, Blacktop Mojo's Texas Checkmate Tour with Seven Year Witch and Truckstop, an Open Mic Night, Club 90's Presents Off Campus Night, Ward Davis performing solo acoustic, Andy Frasco & The U.N. with The Snozzberries, House of Heavy, and Buckcherry with Black Stone Cherry and Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown. Most shows are for ages 18 and up, with doors opening before the listed show times.

The venue sits on 6th Avenue in Huntington, about a tenth of a mile from 8th Street. The Federal Building and the Cabell Huntington Health Department are both roughly a tenth of a mile away, as is The Virginia State Road memorial.

With a 4.60 rating behind it, The Loud carries forward two decades of live music booking in Huntington under the same ownership that built the V Club's reputation.
