Its stated approach centers on honest pricing: customers receive recommendations with a quote showing the costs for any suggested maintenance or repairs, so they can understand their options and make their own choice. The shop offers to pick up and drop off vehicles or give customers a ride to home, work or play, and it keeps a few loaner vehicles for customers with proof of insurance and a valid driver's license. Customers are welcome to wait over a cup of coffee or a cookie during an oil change or scheduled repair.

The shop has served the Monona and Madison area for more than 20 years. It sits on Monona Drive, about a tenth of a mile from the Monona Post Office and a short walk from MG21 Liberal Arts Charter School and Woodland Park. The Monona Golf Course and Lussier Stadium are each within about half a mile, and La Follette High School is roughly six-tenths of a mile away.

Handel Automotive's customers describe it positively in their reviews, and the business has built more than two decades of service in Monona on maintenance and repair work backed by a nationwide warranty.
