Fein Design

Fein Design is an architecture firm in Mequon, Wisconsin, providing residential design-build services for clients across southeastern Wisconsin. Since 1995, the practice has delivered custom projects including Port Washington retreats, Land O'Lakes family cabins, pool house getaways, a Mequon historic renovation and addition, a Thiensville kitchen and dining remodel, an Elm Grove addition and renovation, Cedarburg remodels, and mudroom, laundry, and full-home remodels in Mequon.

The firm is led by owner Rory Palubiski, who holds a Bachelor of Science from the UW-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning. After working as an intern at the award-winning Vetter-Denk architecture firm, Palubiski backpacked through Europe in 1995, studying buildings he had first encountered in school. Those travels inspired him to found Fein Design in July 1995. Before launching his own practice, he spent nearly three years working as a carpenter, cabinet maker, painter, and engineer, giving him direct, hands-on knowledge of how homes are built. Palubiski has shared that expertise as a teacher at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and as a guest speaker at Port Washington Middle and High School. He also serves on the Port Washington Main Street Committee.

Fein Design operates from Suite 350 at 11124 North Cedarburg Road, situated on the lower level of the Riversite building on the river side. The office sits about a third of a mile from Cedarburg Road and West Mequon Road, with Gateway Park and the Mequon-Thiensville Gateway monument roughly six tenths of a mile away.

In a region where custom residential architecture is often handled by larger metro firms, Fein Design distinguishes itself through owner-led involvement on every project and a designer's background that includes years spent physically building the homes he now designs for clients throughout the Mequon area.
