The building passed through several owners, including Carl Muench, who added an outdoor beer garden, and George Walter, whose Adler Brau lager became a regional favorite before Prohibition closed the doors. The brewery reopened after repeal, eventually becoming Wisconsin’s third brewpub and, under Tom and Steve Lonsway in 2004, the oldest continually operating brewpub in the state.
