Congregational Preschool

Congregational Preschool is a preschool in La Crosse, WI, located at 2503 Main St. Founded in 1962 in the same building it occupies today, the school serves children ages 3 to 5 through non-denominational, play-based programs, including a publicly funded 4K class. Half-day 3K and 4K classes run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., with 3K options offered on Tuesday/Thursday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, and a Monday-through-Friday Spanish Introduction class. Surround care is available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for enrolled children, with drop-in and scheduled rates for Lunch Bunch, half-day, and full-day attendance. A summer care program runs from June 8 through August 14 (closed July 1-7) at the same extended hours. It holds a rating of 5.00 from its customers.

The school is a state-licensed, non-profit organization that operates from September to May on a schedule that generally follows the La Crosse public schools' major vacation dates. Every 3K and 4K teacher holds a Bachelor's degree in education, and the program maintains small class sizes across its half-day classes. Each classroom day includes arrival routines, circle time, snack, choice time with teacher-prepared learning centers, and outside play on a playground with large play structures. The school is governed by an Administrator/Director and a Board of Directors drawn from current parents and other community members; the current board includes Stephanie Wickre as President, Jesse Blackwell as Vice President, Krysta Riggle as Secretary, and members Lisa Erickson and Mallory Beinborn. Congregational Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin, sex, gender, or ability level, and welcomes children of all backgrounds.

The preschool sits on Main Street near Losey Boulevard, about a quarter mile from Losey Boulevard South and roughly half a mile from Crowley Park. Blessed Sacrament School is within a short walk to the east.

More than sixty years after opening its doors, Congregational Preschool continues to serve over 60 children each year in the same Coulee Region building where it began.
