Healthy Pet Market of Howard

Healthy Pet Market of Howard is a pet store in Howard, Wisconsin, serving Howard, Green Bay, DePere and the surrounding area. It carries natural dog and cat food, whole food treats, pet accessories and supplies, along with all-natural supplements for concerns such as skin and coat, allergies, digestion, flea and tick, upset stomach, diarrhea, calming and joint support. Foods and treats are selected for simple ingredients, avoiding unnamed animal sources and byproducts, and the cat foods are largely grain-free. The store holds a rating of 4.80 from the customers who have reviewed it.

The store is family-owned and small, which allows time to be put into selecting the food it carries. Cheryl Larson has raised and trained giant schnauzers for 25 years, 17 of them feeding a raw, biologically appropriate diet to her dogs and cats. She has trained dogs to titles in Canine Good Citizen, obedience, therapy and temperament tests, and has taken part in agility and tracking classes, fostered puppies and rescued cats. She is certified in holistic animal care, Reiki level II and animal massage, and has completed coursework in herbalism, homeopathy, aromatherapy and Bach flower essences. Her specialty is formulating a plan to help pets regain and maintain long-term health through diet and supplementation. Bryan Schmitt, her son-in-law, works with customers' pets and has kept dogs, cats and ducks.

The store sits on Cardinal Lane, about a tenth of a mile from a strip mall and two tenths of a mile from Pioneer Parkway. The West Side YMCA is three tenths of a mile away, the Brown County Public Library's Weyers-Hilliard Branch and Duck Creek are each about four tenths of a mile away, and Howard Commons is roughly six tenths of a mile from the store. Pets are welcome inside.

For Howard and Green Bay pet owners who want to address a health concern through diet and supplementation rather than guesswork, Healthy Pet Market pairs a hands-on, holistic approach with a selection built around species-appropriate nutrition.
