It began by selling Apple II computers, which initially arrived without floppy disks and used cassette tape storage. In 1981, Larry opened a second store in Green Bay, selling it to the manager in 1985 to avoid competition. That Green Bay location eventually shifted to PCs before closing. In the early 2000s, the Appleton store remodeled, combining with the neighboring Sound World to allow customers to browse both stores without going outside. Computer World became an Apple Specialist in 1998 and joined the Apple Specialist Marketing Corporation group in 2005. The store offered availability two evenings a week and emphasized matching customer tastes and budgets. As of July 1, 2026, the store is closed due to retirement.
