Tom and Joan Bleker were performers who traveled the country, with Joan performing dance and Tom performing acrobatics, comedy, and dance. They settled in Spokane Valley to raise a family, and Tom built the studio from the ground up. It has been run by their daughter, Missy Scheller, since the late 1980s. The approximately 5,000 square foot studio is built onto the back of a house, accessed via stairs from the driveway. It includes two dance rooms with real hardwood floors resurfaced annually, plus a practice space, dressing room, and waiting area. Most classes have a maximum of ten students, with assistant teachers to provide one-on-one interaction.

The studio uses contemporary Christian music but also mixes in big band and Broadway tunes. Choreography is age-appropriate yet challenging, and costumes are modest. The studio emphasizes small class sizes to ensure every dancer receives attention. It offers watch weeks, recitals, and registration information for parents. Owner Melissa (Missy) Scheller can be reached at 509-863-2363 or [email protected].
