Cooper Studios opened at the end of 2008 and has been part of the Shelton and Mason County community since then. The studio occupies a 3,000 square foot space in Historic Downtown Shelton, with two camera rooms, a projection room used for view-and-order appointments and consultations, and a lobby and gallery area. Its product line includes wall art, albums, and printed portraits. Handcrafted portrait prints and canvases are printed and finished in the studio, then framed in its custom frame shop. The studio's stated aim is to see color, light, and emotion in a distinctive way and to capture memories, history, and each subject's personality.

Beyond photography, the studio's team serves on volunteer boards including the Shelton Neon Project, Mason County Forest Festival, and the Shelton Downtown Merchants, and takes part in events and causes in the area.

Cooper Studios sits on W Railroad Ave in Shelton. Clock Tower Park is steps away, and the Mason County Historical Society Museum and the Mason County District Court are each about a tenth of a mile from the studio, as is Shelton Creek.

The studio's 4.90 rating reflects how customers regard its portrait, commercial, and architectural work. In a city where the historic downtown hosts the studio's gallery and frame shop, Cooper Studios pairs fine art training with in-house printing and framing for Shelton clients.
