Cared For Kennels

Cared For Kennels is a pet sitter in Richland, WA, located at 1940 Jones Rd. The business provides dog boarding services, offering a clean, comfortable, secure, fun, and loving environment for animals. Owned by Ryan and Vicci Sontag, the facility operates on five acres just off Van Geisen and features indoor and outdoor runs, two sizeable grassy play and potty areas, and heated and air-conditioned indoor facilities. Staff let dogs out multiple times a day and provide bedding, though owners may bring favorite blankets or toys. The kennel maintains a 4.30 rating from customer reviews.

The Sontags purchased the business in July of 2025 from Brett and Shauna Campbell, who had operated the facility as Campbell Kennels since 1975. The new owners aim to continue the legacy of the Campbells, who built the family-run kennel over decades. The name Cared For Kennels is an acronym for the Sontags’ children: Ryan, Carleigh, Aaron, Destinee, and Everly. The name also reflects the owners’ philosophy of treating each dog like their own family member, ensuring animals are not just fed and watered but genuinely cared for.

The facility is designed to keep dogs active and happy during their stay. Owners believe in not charging extra for everyday tasks such as letting dogs outside, feeding, or medicating them. The goal is to return dogs to their owners happy and a little tired from a busy kennel stay. The Sontags live on the premises, allowing them to monitor the animals closely. They also maintain a relationship with several local veterinarians to support the health and well-being of the dogs in their care.

Cared For Kennels brings a long history of dog boarding to Richland, combining decades of established care with a personal, family-focused approach. Its on-site living and extensive outdoor spaces provide a secure and attentive environment for dogs in the area.

The business sits on Jones Road in Richland, Washington, just half a mile from Van Giesen Street. It is also located about a mile from the Horn Rapids Ditch and the Buckskin Golf Club.
