Arrow Animal Urgent Care

Arrow Animal Urgent Care is a walk-in veterinary clinic in Renton, WA, located at 4208 Lind Ave. SW. The practice is dedicated to treating non-life-threatening concerns in dogs and cats, operating daily from 8 AM to 8 PM. It does not accept appointments, instead treating patients in order of arrival after assessing whether their condition is stable. Services cover minor lacerations, wounds, burns, limping, vomiting, diarrhea, coughs, upper respiratory infections, blood in urine or stool, abscesses, broken toenails, allergic reactions, toxin ingestion, eye problems, ear or skin infections, scooting, licking, and urinary tract infections. If immediate emergency attention is required, the clinic directs clients to the nearest emergency room.

Opened in 2022 by Dr. Beth Guerra and Dr. Laurie Wieringa, Arrow Animal Urgent Care was created to address a gap in veterinary access in the Greater Seattle area. The founders, vet school classmates and long-time friends, observed that primary care veterinarians were struggling to accommodate increased pet ownership and staff shortages, while emergency clinics became overwhelmed by caseloads. The clinic serves as an in-between option for urgent concerns that cannot wait for a primary veterinarian’s next appointment but do not require emergency room care.

Dr. Guerra graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She worked in a busy walk-in practice in the Chicagoland area before moving to Seattle to begin a career in emergency medicine. After nearly 20 years in emergency roles, often working overnight shifts, she transitioned to urgent care. Dr. Wieringa is also a founding veterinarian at the practice. The clinic’s approach focuses on treating as many pets as possible, one walk-in at a time, with a team dedicated to compassion and efficient care for urgent, non-emergency cases.
