Mercer Island Acupuncture Clinic is an acupuncture practice in Mercer Island, Washington, located at 7834 SE 32nd St. Sean Seery, MS, LAc, LMP, is a licensed acupuncturist, massage practitioner, and Chinese herbalist who has been practicing on Mercer Island since 2000. His practice draws on Traditional Chinese Medicine, using acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, lifestyle recommendations, diet, massage and tuina, moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, electro-stimulation, and TDP lamp heat. Sean began his studies in acupuncture and Oriental medicine in 1999 at Bastyr University, interning at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and at King County clinics, where he received training in pain management. He completed a three-month externship at the Shanghai University of TCM and at Shuguang and Long Hua Hospitals in Shanghai, China, specializing in gynecology, internal medicine, sleep disorders, and tuina. He graduated in March of 2003 with a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He has been a supervisor in the Chinese herbal dispensary at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health since 2003 and volunteered at the Kang Wen clinic in Seattle. Before his formal studies in nutrition, Sean worked for many years as a professional baker and chef. He completed a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition at Bastyr University in June of 1998. He helps patients with dietary choices including where to shop, what to buy, meal planning, and cooking techniques, and encourages people to eat with the seasons, holding that climate and personal constitution matter when considering food. The clinic sits on SE 32nd St, steps from the Mercer Island Post Office and about a tenth of a mile from Mercerdale Park, Fire Headquarters - Station 91, and public artworks including Rescue and Reclining Woman.
