Steam Sweepers LLC

Steam Sweepers LLC is a carpet cleaner in Ferndale, Washington, specializing in the hand washing of Oriental and specialty area rugs. The company cleans and repairs fine wool and silk rugs, and also offers rug pads and pet stain removal. Its service area covers Bellingham and Mount Vernon, along with cities and townships across Whatcom, Skagit, and Island Counties, the San Juan Islands by way of Anacortes, and a limited reach into Snohomish County around Stanwood, including the I-5 corridor between Blaine and Smokey Point. Steam Sweepers holds a rating of 5.00 from the customers who have reviewed it.

The cleaning method is a labor-intensive, centuries-old technique built on cold-water immersion, which the company notes has been used throughout the Middle East for a thousand years and remains in use because machinery is not gentle enough for hand-knotted rugs. For nearly three decades the team has practiced these traditional washing methods to restore the beauty and value of fine rugs and extend their natural life. The company describes itself as a family owned, local business and a second-generation rug cleaning specialist, with more than 60 years of cumulative experience on its team. It reports having cleaned over 50,000 rugs and holds more than 500 customer reviews. Beyond washing, it offers rug repair, rug pads, odor removal, moth protection, and fiber protection.

Pick-up and delivery is available for all rugs, with drop-off hours Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 12:00PM and additional times by appointment. Business hours run 8:30AM to 5:00PM Monday through Saturday. The company maintains a Tuesday pick-up schedule in Anacortes every two weeks, reaching Fidalgo Island around lunchtime and sometimes starting at the ferry terminal to serve San Juan Islands customers. In Oak Harbor, its van crosses Deception Pass into Island County, where fine rugs are common among personnel from Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.

Steam Sweepers is located on Iron Gate Road. Its 5.00 rating reflects the experience of the customers who have reviewed its work.
