Thundering Oak Enterprises

Thundering Oak Enterprises is a tree service in Auburn, Washington. The company employs certified arborists and tree care specialists who serve residential, commercial, and government property owners throughout Pierce and South King County, with occasional work on the Sammamish Plateau, Mercer Island, and Bellevue. Their work covers storm-damaged trees, pruning and thinning, tree and stump removal, planting new trees, landscape services for trees and shrubs, tree consulting, and tree-related legal matters. Thundering Oak holds a rating of 3.70 based on publicly available reviews.

The business was founded by Bryce Landrud, who has been a Certified Arborist (#PN0232) since 1992 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management from Washington State University, earned in 1979. Landrud is a lifelong resident of Auburn. Thundering Oak's stated mission is to protect and conserve trees, and the staff attends regular training to keep current with arboriculture industry best practices. Services are priced either as a flat fee with line items per plant or plant group, or on an hourly "time and materials" basis for regular customers and harder-to-estimate jobs, with a "not to exceed" maximum available. The team works on concerns that include trees posing a danger of injury or property damage, storm-damaged trees, overgrown trees and shrubs that need pruning or trimming, and trees blocking views. Landscape work considers flowering preferences, sunlight, soil type, drainage, wind, and how a customer wants trees and shrubs to function in the yard. Written competitive estimates are part of every job, and cleanup of all debris is included.

The office sits on C Street SE, less than half a mile from A Street Southeast and C Street Southwest, roughly three-fifths of a mile from Mount Baker Middle School, and about seven-tenths of a mile from Gildo Rey Elementary School.

With a certified founder active in arboriculture since the early 1990s and a service area covering two of Washington's most populous counties, Thundering Oak brings decades of training and local knowledge to tree care in Auburn.
