Trainers provide daily updates and photos throughout the training. At the end of the program, the trainer reviews everything the dog has learned and provides a personalized take-home lesson to help owners apply the skills. Kodiak K9 was founded by police K9 handlers Brad and Corey. The business was named in honor of Brad’s first K9 partner, Kodiak, who served as a Fairfax County patrol and narcotics canine for ten years. Brad has served as a K9 handler in a large metropolitan police department since 2009 and is currently an active handler and head trainer. He has trained numerous K9 patrol and detection teams with multiple agencies in the DMV area. Brad believes in a balanced training philosophy with an emphasis on ensuring the dog enjoys the experience, using patience and positive reinforcement when practical. Kodiak K9 works only with trainers who meet high standards of experience, professionalism, and care.
