John Holt has taught guitar for more than 15 years and holds a master's degree from the UNC School of the Arts, where he focused on guitar performance and pedagogy. When a student gets in touch, the first conversation covers the kind of music the student likes, the type of guitar they want to learn on, and where their playing currently stands; those details shape a lesson plan and curriculum. He also teaches the Suzuki guitar method to young students, a program designed for children ages 4 to 12, and is a registered Suzuki guitar instructor.
