The company supplies and services keys, locks, padlocks, key control systems, safes and safelocks, electronic access control, locksmith supplies, and builders hardware. Its commercial offerings include ADA compliance upgrades, door closer installation and repair, and electronic keyless entry systems, while its government work covers access control, ADA locks and door hardware, and Cypher locks. The business began in 1917 when J. Silvaño Saucedo arrived in El Paso to start the El Paso Key Fitting Company, making him one of the first locksmiths in the area. In 1956, his son Edward Saucedo opened the Edward Saucedo Company, and by 1979 his son David had become a shareholder, renaming it the Edward Saucedo & Son Company. A major renovation in 1983 expanded the company's inventories and positioned it as one of the largest single-source lock hardware and service providers in the region. During this period of growth, the company became the third largest distributor of Master Lock padlocks in the world and was named National Hardware Dealer of the Year by Amerock in 1985. The company is now in its fourth generation and operates as The Saucedo Company. It is a member of the Texas Locksmith Association, the Associated Locksmiths of America, the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, and holds Texas License B13281.

The Saucedo Lock Company sits on North Copia Street, about two-tenths of a mile from Montana Avenue, with Mary Webb Park and Leona Ford Washington Park nearby and Alta Vista School a short distance south.

Now in its fourth generation, the Saucedo family has been a constant presence in El Paso's locksmith trade for over a century.
