Hurricane Martial Arts Center is a martial arts school in Taylors, SC. It teaches Japanese Shotokan karate, working through the traditional forms, or katas, while drawing on attributes of other systems as students progress through the ranks. Classes run 45 minutes, except the Tiny Tiger class for four- and five-year-olds, which runs 30 minutes. The curriculum is structured so a student can earn a black belt in 300 class hours of training, and most students test every two or three months depending on attendance and progress. Programs serve children, teenagers, adults and families, including a transported after-school martial arts program that picks children up from their schools, brings them to the dojo for a snack, homework time and play, and gives each student martial arts class at least two days per week. Family classes let entire households train together. The school holds a rating of 4.2 based on nine reviews.

United States Heavy Weight title in 2002 and competed in Chuck Norris' World Combat League in 2005. He earned his fifth, sixth and seventh degree black belts under Grandmaster Joe Lewis and was promoted to fifth degree black belt under Bill "Superfoot" Wallace. He has run his own martial arts academy for over 27 years, holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of SC Upstate, and is an American Council on Exercise certified Group Fitness Instructor.
