In 1997, he created the Youthful Offender Program (YOP), an innovative diversion program for at-risk youth through the Office of the State's Attorney. This program remains in existence and has received local, state, and national recognition. His graduate studies in counseling support his role as a driving instructor.

Megan serves as the office administrator. She moved to SC from Michigan in July of 2022. She handles customer inquiries and office operations. Ashley, a Charleston native, also works to help others. Miss Maple, the resident dog, provides comfort to nervous students.
