Crown Leadership Academy – North Charleston Campus

Crown Leadership Academy - North Charleston Campus is a private educational institution in North Charleston, SC. The school serves students from Pre-K 3 through 12th grade as a Christian school, with campuses in Mount Pleasant and North Charleston. Its North Charleston campus meets at North Palm Community Church on Cross Country Road. Small-group classes are designed to meet each student where they are, and instruction covers academics alongside leadership development, executive functioning, reasoning, and presentation skills. Crown began when a group of educators, parents, and business leaders came together to create a learning environment that would challenge students to become critical thinkers and leaders. Seven students and two teachers pioneered the academy in a one-room schoolhouse inside an office building on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. The academy later spent two years at Holy Cross on Sullivan's Island before moving to its Long Point Road campus in Mount Pleasant, and in 2019 it opened the North Charleston campus at North Palm Community Church. The school's approach emphasizes student-led learning. Class discussions and driving questions shape the direction of study, and students demonstrate mastery through project evaluation, presentations, classroom participation, and assignments. Traditional print textbooks rarely drive learning; math and language arts use Teaching Textbooks, McRuffy Math, CK12, and McRuffy. Multi-disciplinary team projects build conflict resolution and collaboration skills, and the schedule gives students lessons in time management and personal responsibility. The North Charleston campus is located on Long Point Road in North Charleston, SC.
