Safe Driving School, Inc – Your #1 Driving School

Safe Driving School, Inc. is a driving school in Myrtle Beach, SC, serving teens and adults across Horry and Georgetown Counties. It offers one-on-one customizable driver training, beginner packages for teens and adults getting a SC license for the first time, permit and road test preparation, point reduction courses that can remove up to four points from a SC driving record, insurance reduction courses, court-ordered defensive driving, and fleet training. The school participates in the SC Department of Motor Vehicles Third-Party Road Testing Program, which allows it to administer both the road skills test and the permit knowledge test. Its instructors bring 35 years of driver's education experience in public and private schools, and the school has been voted the Readers Choice Award every year since 2009.

Classroom instruction for the beginner course runs eight hours, usually completed in one day on Saturdays, with behind-the-wheel lessons scheduled in hourly blocks and broken into two- or three-hour sessions. Each student is assigned an instructor on the day of classroom training, and that instructor calls the parent to arrange the behind-the-wheel sessions. Road test appointments must be made 48 hours in advance, and pickup for testing is available. After passing a test with the school, students receive paperwork to take to the DMV for their photo, eye test, and new license. The school has teamed up with the SC Highway Patrol and AAA of the Carolinas to give students the information they need to make good driving decisions on their own. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm, with Saturday by appointment, and classroom hours run 9am to 5pm.

The school sits on Belle Terre Blvd, about a tenth of a mile from the Carolina Bays Parkway. The Tuscany neighborhood is roughly 0.3 miles away, with Cross Swamp and Socastee Swamp nearby, and Fantasy Harbour Boulevard and Forestbrook Road each about half a mile off.

Safe Driving School has built its reputation in Myrtle Beach on 35 years of driver's education experience and a Readers Choice Award won every year since 2009. For Grand Strand families navigating SC's licensing requirements, that record is the reason many of them start here.
