She is a native of Horry County, attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., and received her dental degree from MUSC (Medical Univ. of S.C.) James. B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine. She also completed a General Practice Residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC.
