Island Rides

Island Rides is a golf cart dealer in Mt Pleasant, SC. It is a family owned small business operating as a full service golf cart and LSV dealer, offering rentals, sales and service in the greater Charleston area. Whether a customer wants to rent a cart, buy a cart or have a cart serviced, the business handles all three. Its lineup includes new and used golf carts and LSVs, along with preowned automobiles. As an authorized ECO Lithium Battery dealer, Island Rides can convert the lead acid batteries in a golf cart or LSV to a lighter lithium battery setup.

The rental fleet consists of street legal golf carts, all of which are Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs). An LSV carries more safety and convenience features than a regular golf cart and can be driven day or night to more places. The carts can be driven on any road with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less, and SC law allows travel further than four miles from the rental location, including between Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island across the Breach Inlet bridge. Features include lithium batteries for maximum driving range, Bluetooth, CarPlay and a backup camera. All weather enclosures are available for inclement weather. Island Rides delivers the cart to a rental address at the start of the reservation and picks it up at the end.

Renters must be at least 25 years of age, sign the rental contract, hold a valid driver's license and show proof of automobile insurance; alternate drivers must be at least 21 and listed on the contract. A map showing where the carts can and cannot be operated is provided. The carts may park in ordinary car-parking spots, parking garages and "Golf Cart Only" spots, but may not be driven or parked on the beach, beach-access paths, sidewalks, highways, bike paths or golf course paths, and off-roading is not permitted.

Island Rides serves Charleston and the surrounding islands, with a store in Charleston at 2390 Air Park Road, Suite 105, North Charleston, SC 29406.
