The initial focus was on crafting doors and window sash. Over the following decades, the business expanded to include a retail building supply store and a sawmill. In 1959, Guy Lee’s son-in-law, Ross Lampe, purchased the company and continued its evolution. Under his direction, more retail locations were opened across eastern North Carolina, and the sawmill division began treating lumber for sale at the stores. The company also established a construction lending program to help customers finance their projects.

Today, the business remains owned by Guy Lee’s direct descendants and is headquartered in downtown Smithfield, just a few blocks from the original location. It operates multiple locations to serve diverse needs, including branches in Raleigh, Apex, Clayton, Morehead City, Sneads Ferry, Kitty Hawk, Shallotte, New Bern, and Wilmington. An expanded construction lending program and a dedicated millwork in Selma support these operations. The business attributes its sustained success to the hard work of its team and its dedication to customer satisfaction, integrity, and sustainability.
