CHD Interiors

CHD Interiors is an interior designer in Mt Pleasant, SC. The custom design firm serves clients across the Lowcountry and coastal areas of the Carolinas, handling projects that range from a single room to a complete remodel. Its designers work with fabrics, stone, tile, floor and wall coverings, window treatments, hardware, and lighting, and they collaborate with a client's architect and builder during the planning stages to shape space planning, furniture placement, and traffic flow. CHD also creates custom-designed pieces and offers a curated selection of antiques.

Established in 1977 by the Griffith family, CHD is led by owner and lead designer Lance Griffith, whose signature approach is known as Lowcountry Chic, a style that draws on the relaxed lifestyle of the South and works in traditional, coastal, and contemporary directions. The firm began as a mother and son partnership between Lance and Pollye Griffith in a small retail space in Surfside Beach, growing over more than forty-five years and adding its Mt. Pleasant store to supplement the original Murrells Inlet location. Three generations of Griffiths are now involved in the business, which has six designers on staff. The team travels to Europe and the English countryside each year to hand-pick one-of-a-kind antiques and can search for specific pieces on request. With over 500 lines of furniture and one of the largest fabric selections in the Carolinas, CHD has completed projects along the Eastern Seaboard and in the Caribbean, from Manhattan lofts to estates in the Florida Keys.

Two evolving retail showrooms in Mt. Pleasant and Murrells Inlet carry furnishings, accessories, lighting, fabrics, tiles, and floor and wall coverings, reflecting the firm's long roots in interior design across coastal SC.
