Carpenters Woodworks and Restoration of Mt Pleasant

Carpenters Woodworks and Restoration of Mt Pleasant is a cabinet store in Mt Pleasant, SC, located at 748 B King Street. It holds a rating of 4.70 based on 13 reviews. The family-owned business has served the Charleston Lowcountry for over 45 years, specializing in custom cabinetry, millwork, and restoration. Projects begin in their Mt. Pleasant studio and are built in-shop in McClellanville, SC. The team designs and builds custom cabinets for kitchens, butler’s pantries, sculleries, bath vanities, mudrooms, laundry rooms, bars, closets, and home libraries. Their standard cabinets use a full-custom hybrid construction with domestic maple carcasses and solid maple for painted finishes. Stained and natural work typically uses white oak or walnut. The company also builds traditional framed or frameless cabinets with inset or overlay doors.

The shop builds handmade furniture such as dining tables, coffee tables, sideboards, dressers, desks, and nightstands, including pieces designed for porches and outdoor settings using species suited to the environment. They offer refinishing and refacing services to update existing cabinetry without a full rebuild. Refinishing refreshes the color while keeping existing doors and drawer fronts. Refacing replaces the doors and drawer fronts entirely. Most on-site preparation for refinishing and refacing is finished within about a week. All finishing is completed in their own in-shop coatings department using high-end lacquer systems. The business is known for a solid reputation among the customers it has served.
