St. John's Christian Academy

St. John's Christian Academy is a private educational institution in Moncks Corner, SC. Serving K3 through 12th grade students since 1965, the academy partners with parents to provide a college preparatory education rooted in Biblical values. Smaller class sizes and a secure campus support a safe learning environment, while faculty, coaches, and staff are recognized for their Christian-centered leadership and commitment to students.

The academy's curriculum integrates Biblical instruction and a Christian worldview across all subject areas, with the stated goal of preparing students for success at a four-year college or university. The preschool program for grades K3 and K4 centers on Christian character education, language development, phonological awareness, letter and sound recognition, number recognition up to 20, counting, sequencing, predicting, graphing, and social and emotional development. K3 students attend weekly physical education classes, chapel, and daily Bible instruction, while K4 students add weekly music and library classes to their schedule. The elementary program for K5 through fifth grade builds a foundation for the upper school college preparatory track, covering reading, English, math, science, and social studies alongside elementary music, art, and physical education, with computer literacy added in grades three through five. Daily Bible lessons and weekly chapel services are part of every grade level. Athletics play a meaningful role in school life, with a mission to help students develop their talents, set positive examples, and build character, confidence, and courage that carry into the wider community. A parent-led Corporate Club supports the athletic department by funding equipment, instruction, and facility improvements.

Leadership at the academy includes Mrs. Ellison as Head of School, Mrs. Ferguson overseeing Lower School academics, Coach Jackson directing athletics, Mrs. Coker managing admissions, and Chelsea handling Human Resources. Admissions operates on a defined annual schedule, with returning student enrollment opening first, followed by new family applications starting February 19, 2025, on a first-come, first-served basis. New students in K5 through 12th grade are required to complete a placement test prior to acceptance.

St. John's Christian Academy is located at 204 West Main Street in Moncks Corner. Six decades of continuous operation in the Lowcountry have made the academy a longstanding fixture among private Christian schools in the Berkeley County area.
