Carpenters Woodworks and Restoration of McClellanville

Carpenters Woodworks and Restoration of McClellanville is a cabinet maker in McClellanville, SC. It holds a rating of 4.70 based on 13 reviews.

A family-owned cabinetry and millwork shop serving the Charleston Lowcountry for over 45 years, the business designs and builds custom cabinetry, furniture, and restoration pieces in-shop. Projects begin in their Mt. Pleasant studio, where the team works with clients to develop plans, select materials, and establish a direction for the build. Cabinetry services cover kitchens, butler’s pantries, sculleries, bath vanities, mudrooms, laundry rooms, bars, closets, and home libraries. The shop uses a full-custom hybrid construction for standard cabinets, pairing the clean look of inset with the accessibility of frameless. Carcasses are built from domestic maple, with solid maple for painted finishes, while stained and natural work typically uses white oak or walnut. All finishing happens in the shop’s coatings department using high-end lacquer systems, solid colors, stains, or natural oils, so cabinets arrive ready to install. Projects run about 10 to 16 weeks from approval to installation. The team provides all functional hardware, such as hinges and drawer slides, while decorative hardware is supplied by the client, designer, or builder.

The business also offers refinishing and refacing services to update existing cabinetry without a full rebuild. Refinishing refreshes the color of existing cabinets while keeping the same doors and drawer fronts. Refacing replaces the doors and drawer fronts entirely to change the room’s style, including the refinishing work. Most preparation happens in the shop, with on-site work finished within about a week. Custom furniture includes dining tables, coffee tables, sideboards, dressers, desks, and nightstands, often built in white oak, walnut, or stained maple. The shop can design pieces from scratch or from client sketches, and builds for porches and outdoor settings using species and finishes suited to the environment. Pieces can be picked up from the studio or delivered and placed anywhere in Charleston and the surrounding area. The scope covers cabinetry and integrated panels, including custom panels for panel-ready appliances, but excludes appliances, countertops, plumbing, and electrical.
