King's Sunset Nursery

King's Sunset Nursery is a plant nursery in Liberty, SC. Founded by Zuela and Lillie King almost a century ago as a small section of the family garden, the operation began as an extra income source alongside field crops of cotton and corn. Today the nursery spans over 600 acres of trees in production and is run by third and fourth generation family members, Tommy, Roger, and Noah King. The nursery grows and sells trees and shrubs primarily to landscape contractors, re-wholesalers, and garden centers throughout the eastern half of the United States.

The product list covers a wide range of ornamental and shade trees, including Trident Maple, Bloodgood Japanese Maple, Brandywine and October Glory Red Maple, Legacy Sugar Maple, Autumn Blaze Freeman Red Maple, Autumn Brilliance Apple Serviceberry, Dura Heat River Birch, Upright European Hornbeam, Patti Faye Deodar Cedar, Forest Pansy Eastern Redbud, American Yellowwood, Golden Globe Ginkgo, Oakleaf Holly, Emily Bruner Holly, and both Kanjiro and Professor Sargent Camellias, along with Japanese Cleyera and Blue-Green Japanese Cedar. Interested buyers can call to schedule a visit to the 600 acre tree farm and check on tree availability. The nursery is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm and closed on weekends.

The nursery sits on 5 Forks Road, about a third of a mile from Moorefield Memorial Highway and roughly half a mile from Eighteenmile Creek and Liberty Fire Station #1, with Calhoun Memorial Highway about seven tenths of a mile away.
