About Simmons Seafood Inc
Simmons Seafood Inc is a seafood market in Isle of Palms, SC. The family-owned business serves customers with fresh seafood and a full line of hats, t-shirts, and fishing apparel. The company began in 1947 when Hugh and his wife Ella Simmons turned to the sea to provide for their family. Starting with a small shrimp boat and a weather-worn building, they opened the first Simmons Seafood Market on Ben Sawyer Blvd in Mt. Pleasant. As the area grew, the Simmons family expanded to house retail, wholesale, and catering operations. William Simmons took charge of the Ben Sawyer Blvd. store, while Hugh “Red” Simmons Jr. focused on the shrimp trade with a facility at Shem Creek.
Three generations of the family have since served the Lowcountry. William’s son Bubba joined in 1983, introducing a new and inventive catering style and the company’s now-famous key lime pie. Bubba later opened the company’s second store on Isle of Palms. Today, fourth-generation siblings Will and Kate Simmons run the daily operations. The business maintains its goal of customer satisfaction and continues to offer catering options and fresh stock to patrons.
Simmons Seafood Inc is known for its strong local reputation, reflected in consistently high customer ratings. Its established track record is built on a large base of customer reviews, demonstrating the trust placed in the family’s long-standing service to the community.
With a history spanning four generations and a 4.80 rating from 127 reviews, Simmons Seafood Inc stands as a trusted seafood market in Isle of Palms, SC.
