He attended Greenville Technical College, earning an Associates Degree in Machine Tool Automotive, then worked at Kemet Electronics for eighteen years before twelve years at GE Aviation Electronics, from which he retired. His passion for cars and rebuilding them began in childhood and led directly to the creation of the shop. Alan brings leadership experience from twelve years in the United States Marine Corps, including service as a Drill Instructor at Paris Island and combat deployments, and graduated with a Bachelor's in Business from Palmetto College in 2022. He handles project management, accounting, marketing, and sales. The shop's mission centers on detailed, skilled quality work using innovative machinery, with timely turnarounds and a refusal to release any job that does not meet its standards. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST.

The shop sits on Cowens Bridge Road, about a tenth of a mile from Fairview Road and half a mile from State Highway 101. South Rabon Creek is roughly eight-tenths of a mile away, with Babb Pond Dam about 1.2 miles out and the Reedy River approximately two miles from the shop.
