Soda City Gymnastics

Soda City Gymnastics is a gymnastics center in Columbia, SC. Over her career she has produced thousands of state champions, hundreds of regional qualifiers, many regional champions, and three national qualifiers, and she attends national and regional congresses yearly to stay current on rules and education. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Winthrop University and is proficient in spotting on all events at all levels. Kenny has sixteen years in the sport, is USAG certified, and coaches tumbling, recreational classes, boys' classes, and the men's competitive team; he is also co-owner of 10.0 Scoring. The coaching staff includes Laurie Scheidler, who has coached for over thirty years across every level from preschool through Elite and served as a Level 10 judge; Beth Dantinne, a thirty-year coach of compulsory and Xcel programs with many state champions to her credit; and Taylor Poole, a former Level 7 competitive gymnast with ten years of coaching who works across preschool, recreational, and the women's team. Front desk and office support is provided by Taylor Poole and Alexis Kahl, a University of SC graduate and former fourteen-year competitive gymnast who qualified for Level 9 Easterns in her senior year.

The gym sits on Huger Street, about a fifth of a mile from Gervais Street and roughly the same distance from the Columbia train station. Nearby landmarks include the Huger Street memorial and the Confederate Printing Plant memorial.

The center has built a steady record with the families it serves, earning repeat and referred business from the local gymnastics community. A full competition schedule for 2025 is posted on its site, with meets ranging from the Cola Classic in Columbia to Level 10 DP Nationals.
