Farmers Market Xchange

Farmers Market Xchange is a Grocery Store in Columbia, SC. The business operates as an artisan bakery and café, specializing in traditional sourdoughs and slow-fermented breads crafted with natural sourdough cultures, long cold-fermentation schedules, and carefully chosen flour formulations. They also offer signature beverages roasted in-house, hearty sandwiches from their deli, and daily scratch-made meals. The store serves customers seeking thoughtfully crafted baked goods and farm-fresh foods, sourcing produce from their own Toms Creek Family Farms and partnering with local growers across SC.

The operation is guided by a deep respect for natural processes and fresh ingredients, spanning generations as a family business. The bakehouse honors time-tested European baking principles, including autolyse and delayed hydration, to produce crusty, highly digestible loaves with complex flavor. Staff craft through the night and bake early in the morning to ensure quality. The retail location provides a neighborhood spot for fresh espresso and sourdough, while their in-house coffee roasting complements the bakery offerings. Additionally, their catering operations deliver wholesome, freshly prepared nourishment to the community, supporting local athletic programs and regional institutions.
