Artista Vista is an event venue in Columbia, SC, based at 701 Gervais Street, Suite 150, in the Congaree Vista district. The event is Columbia's 34th Annual Artista Vista, held April 17-19, 2026, and is organized by the Congaree Vista Guild. The three-day, art-centric program includes a New Public Art Unveiling on Friday, April 17 at 11 a.m. at the corner of Lincoln and Taylor Streets, where the Vista's newest public art piece, Kaleidoscope of Columbia by local artist Maria DeFelice, is unveiled in partnership with One Columbia for Arts and Culture and the City of Columbia. The annual Gallery Crawl runs Friday, April 17 from 6-9 p.m. through the Vista's galleries, with passports available at the Columbia SC Visitors Center and stamping at nine gallery crawl spots for a prize drawing. Saturday, April 18 brings Art Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stormwater Studios, Lewis + Clark and One Eared Cow Glass, with collections and live artist demonstrations, plus the juried Live Art Mart from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., where vendors show their artistic process through live demonstration. The Levitt AMP Columbia Music Series kicks off Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the Koger Center for the Arts, followed by the Light and Lantern Parade presented by Architrave from 8-9 p.m. at the Lincoln Street Tunnel, with cash prizes for the best lantern. The 7th Annual Live on Lincoln closes the weekend on Sunday, April 19 from 5-8 p.m., a ticketed performing arts event on the cobblestones of Lincoln Street with dinner courtesy of Blue Marlin and proceeds split among participating performing arts groups. A curated exhibition, Rooted, is on view at Richland Library Main, and public art tours led by Pamela Zeljak of One Columbia for Arts & Culture depart The Raccoon's Den at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Friday.
The Vista was synonymous with art by the early 1980s, when artists moved studios into the area's affordable abandoned warehouse space, and today's restaurants, shopping and nightlife in historic buildings along the Gervais Street corridor are still driven by that creative energy. The Congaree Vista is an Official SC Cultural District.
The venue sits on Gervais Street, a short walk from the Joseph D. Sapp Memorial Bridge and the Site of Wayside Hospital memorial, both about a tenth of a mile away.
Artista Vista carries the Vista's three-decade art tradition into its 34th year, bringing the Midlands a weekend of gallery crawls, live demonstrations and public art in Columbia's official cultural district.
