Three Rivers Boatworks

Three Rivers Boatworks is a boat repair shop in Charleston, SC, owned and operated by Bryan Finch. The business provides full-service mobile boat and trailer work, sending a technician directly to the customer rather than requiring the watercraft to be dropped off at a shop or boatyard. Finch grew up in Virginia, where time on the water cruising, sailing, fishing, and waterfowl hunting led him into boat work under his father and both grandfathers. During college, he bought a rotting Mako and restored it himself. After moving to Charleston with his wife, Margaret, a marine biologist with the SC Department of Natural Resources, he went to work washing boats for a yacht dealer and moved up through the service department, handling gelcoat repairs, engine services, electronics installs, and sailboat rigging on vessels up to 70 feet. He later worked as a parts manager in the service department of another dealership. Three Rivers Boatworks began in 2017 as a side business and is now his full-time work. Examples of completed projects include a Garmin 94SV UHD with Airmar B60 transducer and Lewmar V700 Windlass on a Dyer 29 "Seaboard II," and a full fuel system cleaning, rewire with new switch panel and gauges, and a new anchor locker lid on a 21-foot Sea Pro center console.
