These spots are limited and released first thing each morning; they cannot be reserved through the online appointment request form. To schedule an initial or follow-up appointment, students may call 843.953.5640 or complete an Online Appointment Request. During office hours, students do not need an appointment and may walk in for immediate assistance. After office hours, if immediate assistance is needed after 5 p.m. or on weekends, students can speak with a counselor-on-call by dialing 843-953-5640 and choosing menu option #3. In life-threatening emergencies, 911 should be called.

All aspects of participation in counseling are confidential and protected by law. Counseling records are not part of an academic transcript and are not shared with other individuals, including other College of Charleston staff, without written permission. Counselors are required by law to notify others if they believe a student is in danger of harming themselves or others, or if they suspect abuse of a child or dependent adult. The center is not required to report victimizations or substance abuse concerns. Staff return messages within 24 business hours. For privacy and safety, the center does not call back numbers that do not leave a voicemail. Students should not include personal or sensitive information in emails, as the email is not monitored 24/7 and should not be used for emergencies.
