Charleston Development Academy is a school in Charleston, SC, located at 233 Line St. It serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

The academy originated from a vision of the Ebenezer AME Church congregation in 1999. Dr. Charles E. Young, then pastor of the church, formed an Education Commission that became the school's Planning Committee. The Charleston County School Board approved the charter application on January 28, 2003. The school opened on August 11, 2003, in the Gadsden Green Public Housing Community, initially serving 65 students in grades K5 through third.

Now serving 202 students, Charleston Development Academy focuses on academic rigor, character development, and STEAM subjects. The curriculum includes science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through hands-on, project-based learning. The Project Lead The Way (PLTW) program empowers students to think critically and solve real-world problems. The mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the personal and social development of motivated and responsible students.

The school has received several recognitions, including the SC Department of Education’s Palmetto Gold Achievement Award for the 2023-2024 school year. It has also received recognition for state charter Administrator of the Year. Charleston Development Academy holds an Excellent overall school rating.
