About Carter Real Estate Center
Carter Real Estate Center is a real estate education and research center within the College of Charleston's School of Business in Charleston, SC. Established in 2006 with support from Ben Carter and the Carter family, the Center provides education and research to advance real estate knowledge and prepares students for careers in the real estate profession. It promotes the College of Charleston's real estate programs, including a commercial real estate finance major, and offers an in-depth curriculum designed to prepare students for long-term career success in real estate.
The Center's programs provide hands-on learning in Charleston's market. It promotes networking opportunities between students and practicing real estate professionals and engages in academic and applied research that expands the real estate body of knowledge. Through a partnership between the Carter Real Estate Center and the Appraisal Foundation, graduates of the College of Charleston's B.S. in Commercial Real Estate Finance receive credit toward professional Real Property Appraiser designations, including up to 285 of the required 300 hours for the Certified General Appraiser credential. This benefit applies to both current and past graduates.
The Carter Real Estate Center unites students, alumni, faculty and industry leaders to better understand the complexities of the commercial real estate market.
