Ashley Bakery

Ashley Bakery is a bakery in Charleston, SC. It specializes in wedding cakes, specialty cakes, and breads, and has served the area since 1988, when Eileen and Bernard Ferri bought the bakery. Eileen Ferri, a Charleston native, bakes all wedding and occasion cakes and is known for creating signature breads for Charleston restaurants. Her daughters, Hayden and Alicia, decorate cakes, and lead cake artist Hayden Ferri Campbell brings over 25 years of decorating experience. Wilson and Cindy arrive early each morning to bake fresh breads, and Wilson has been with the bakery for over 35 years. The bakery offers cake flavors including Almond, Vanilla, Lemon, Marble, Carrot, Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate, Chocolate Kahlua, Hummingbird, Banana Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate, Red Velvet, Sour Cream Pound, Strawberry Sour Cream Pound, and Italian Cream. It also produces sculpted cakes, pies, and breads for retail and wholesale customers, including Rosebank Farms. Wedding cakes have been featured in The Knot, Charleston Weddings Magazine, Southern Living Weddings, In Style Weddings Magazine, Southern Bride, and American Cake Decorating. Everything is made to order, with no stocked cases for walk-in traffic. Custom cakes are best ordered three to six weeks in advance, and wedding consultations are scheduled six to eight months ahead. Couples can order a sample box with six cake flavors and up to three specialty fillings, and delivery is offered throughout the Charleston regional area. Ashley Bakery is named after the Ashley River and the West Ashley locale where it began, and it has been part of Charleston celebrations since the 1960s.
