The Beaufort Dance Company

The Beaufort Dance Company is a dance studio in Beaufort, SC, offering classes in tap, jazz, ballet and pointe, hip hop, musical theater, lyrical and contemporary, and acro for students from 18 months through adulthood. The studio also welcomes senior adults with dedicated class times. Students who want a more focused track can audition for the TBDC Dance Team, which travels across the southeast for competitions. The studio holds a rating of 4.7 from 17 reviews. The Beaufort Dance Company was founded in 2023 by Director and Owner Laura Dansky, a Beaufort native who has been dancing, teaching, and choreographing in Beaufort since she was three years old. Her choreography and dancing have earned many awards and accolades over the years. The studio grew out of the purchase of Beaufort Academy of Dance, which had served the Beaufort community for 26 years, beginning in 1997, and TBDC carries forward the hallmarks that defined its predecessor: a highly qualified staff, innovative choreography, a supportive atmosphere, and high expectations. Instruction goes beyond technique, with the instructors committed to instilling leadership, collaboration, kindness, and responsibility in their dancers. Class options begin with the Parent and Tot program for 18-month to two-year-olds, continue through preschool and kinder tots, and progress through graded tap, jazz, and ballet forms, with the youngest dancers building fine and gross motor skills, musicality, and the ability to follow directions. The studio's reputation among the customers it has served reflects the long local history of its teaching tradition and the loyalty of its families. Laura Dansky's lifelong roots in Beaufort and her record of award-winning choreography make The Beaufort Dance Company a clear extension of more than two decades of dance instruction in the city.
