The bar's identity is rooted in a craft cocktail program shaped by the cultural history of the Mediterranean and Middle East. Drinks are built from scratch using natural ingredients, with a focus on arak, wine, syrups, and fresh fruit, drawing on traditions of berries crushed by foot and fruit cooked over open air. The space is designed as a sanctuary meant to immerse visitors in the present moment, engaging the senses through flavors, scents, sounds, and textures tied to that heritage. Beyond cocktails, the bar offers Mediterranean food and tapas. Marcelino's operates two locations, with the Providence address serving as the second site alongside the Boston Seaport location at 2 Northern Avenue.

The bar sits on West Exchange Street, with Sabin Street and Francis Street just steps away. Exchange Terrace and Dorrance Street are within a tenth of a mile, as is Biltmore Park. AS220, a nearby arts center, is about 0.1 miles from the front door.

The bar's 4.80 rating reflects the customer experience that defines its identity. In Providence's downtown core, Marcelino's Boutique Bar offers a Mediterranean-rooted cocktail and dining program that brings live jazz, craft drinks, and an intimate speakeasy setting to West Exchange Street.
